After lunch was Brecken's conceptual class Into The Heart of Floor Hooping. She hoops on the floor with such fluid grace and ease, practically melting into each movement. It's a little intimidating to imagine doing it yourself, but her passion for movement and the eloquence with which she explains these incredibly complex movements guided us safely down to the ground and back up again. She explained the bio-mechanics so clearly, likening the body positions to chicken wings and rainbows, which made it approachable and so much fun.
After floor hooping, we rolled right into a Meditation and ThetaHealing Journey with Jocelyn Gordon. She guided us in a powerful seated meditation. When I hear such a hypnotizing, clear and melodious voice guiding me I normally slip into that meditative state easily, but with all the physical activity earlier, I just couldn't get comfortable! I had a stitch in my side which I tried to ignore. Even though Jocelyn gave us permission to move around, stretch or listen to our bodies needs, I still tried to tough it out which was a terrible idea, but a much needed lesson. About 20 minutes in, I finally surrendered and lay down. Instantly every muscle in my body relaxed and I fell deeply into meditation after asking the earth for healing energy. When I sat up, the pain was gone and I felt fantastic. A good reminder to listen to my body`s needs.
We then went around the circle and shared our experiences in meditation and I really resonated with much of what everyone was saying. It always feels so good to be reminded we share many experiences. Jocelyn guided us through a ThetaHealing, where we released old patterns if it felt good and right, and we were able to download new ones that will serve us better. As she invited us to let go of any energetic/psychic weight or residue, I felt a heavy energy lift out of my body. I immediately felt lighter and like I could breathe more easily. I know I wasn't the only one that had some immediate physical reaction from releasing old thought forms. Jocelyn's beautiful energy carried us through some amazingly transformative stuff.
Only 2 days in, and already I've seen so much magic, healing and awakening happen. All the hoop, yoga and dance classes bring us deeply into our bodies, into the present, especially as we practice outdoors, with the sights, sounds and energy of so much life all around us. Then the Active Dreaming and ThetaHealing classes have allowed us to go deep within ourselves and release old patterns of thought and behaviors that no longer serve us, which leave open space for new beautiful thought forms to take their place. It's been an honor to be present while people have had some incredible personal breakthroughs. It's a deeply moving experience to bear witness for someone have such a deeply transformative experience.
Everyone is incredibly supportive through the process. Teachers make sure we know they are available to discuss anything we'd like, and all our fellow retreat participants are incredibly kind and thoughtful. I've seen so many hugs and heartfelt conversations already. We are also lucky enough to Jaime Powell, who blessed us with flowers in the opening ceremony, holding space for us. Her role is one of support, to help us deal with and integrate anything that comes up. She has the perfect energy to facilitate that. When talking to her, you feel like she really sees you, understands and honors your experience. She's available at meal times to speak if need be, and is present at all the soul work workshops, holding space with her beautiful grounding energy.
I feel like I`m in a cocoon right now. Having so much support and love around has made me feel like I`m perfectly safe and taken care of, giving me the freedom to relax and enjoy the moment completely.
