What Sacred Circularities is about:
Sacred Circularities is a spiritual retreat gathering that takes place in inspiring parts of the World with a focus on healing, self-expansion, spiritual skill-sharing and community-building through ritual. Using the art of hoop dance as a starting point, Sacred Circularities retreat gatherings fuse various movement modalities with leading edge, spiritual thought and practice.
Why hooping?
We use the hoop to create spin; a circular force in the universe and in our lives, that produces energy. With the power of our hearts, we channel that energy into pure joy and creativity. The channeling process is fueled less by the mind and more by the heart. Indeed, hooping is part of an alchemical recipe that alters and transforms our bodies, minds, and spirits toward positive projection/expression whether we are mentally aware of it or not. All we have to do is commit to the practice. Get in the Hoop. Step on the Mat. Open your heart. Be Still. Breathe. This is one of the ways that hooping relates to other mind-body-spirit practices like yoga, ecstatic dance, and tai-chi. When you feel this force, and it begins to work on you, the impossible becomes possible. You have hope again. You believe that the world can be a better place and that your spinning with a hoop is critical input toward that goal. For me, hooping is a sweet trance that through practice, transports my body and inspires my mind to produce thoughts and feelings that support my health and well-being. When I am well, I am more able to love myself and therefore, to love you and to see and appreciate our connectedness.
Tools for Navigating the Third Dimension
As mentioned above, Sacred Circularities projects engage the body, the root tool for third dimensional experience, through hooping. Then we incorporate other transformational practices like yoga, meditation, sound, sacred geometry, mudra technology, flower essences, Mayan time concepts and on and on, to diversify our experience and to experiment with what we can create for ourselves in this particular instance of life. The intention is that by coming together in a focused setting (like a retreat) and blending various techniques and tools, we can discover more about the immense power in our lives and how to share that power and brilliant magic with our communities.
The saying "we are all one" used to sound cliche. We know now that separation is an illusion. But knowing that we are all connected and staying aware of that connectedness is challenging sometimes. Sacred Circularities projects promote healing from the trauma produced from separation by advocating for the increased use of holistic ritual practices. In daily life, ritual expressions can be as grand as a commitment ceremony, as common as a birthday party or as beautifully simple as expressing gratitude before a meal. When ritual encompasses the senses, the five elements, the cardinal directions and the human body, it becomes an intentional act of multi-dimensional presence that can potentially provide deep clearing for burdened hearts. When performed in community, the healing affects of ritual are amplified and the vibrations created by the intentions set by the group spread beyond those present, into the space where we gather and into the world, accelerating the release of old patterns. Gathering to dance, pray, share, and play can heal emotional wounds of separation from each other and deepen our connection to our own divine nature.
So how do we traverse this terrain of infinite possibility? What is our process? Sacred Circularities retreats are laboratories where a particular set of tools is called in. Hoop dance, meditation, and flower essences are parts of an evolving equation. Each individual discovers their own formula for expansion and growth with the tools provided. If you were a Painter about to render the Landscape of your Heart's Desire, what Colors would you choose to ignite your Creativity?
Hey People, I just got an inquiry about coming to Peru from a friend. She wanted to know how I am able to go about the world, doing this stuff. I thought the answer might be of interest to some other friends, so I'm copying it here. Much love! jm ________________ M wrote: Hello lovely being, Thank you so much for the invite to the sacred hooping in Peru. Unfortunately, my financial resources will not permit me to make such a journey, and so if I may ask, how do you manifest such worldly experiences? Your life, from the few glimpses you've shared, seems so remarkably free and mobile. I would love to hear your insights on how to manifest the resources for travelling around our beautiful globe. Cheers! M I responded: Hey M! Thanks for your words and encouragement. There have been many times when I've been in one place for long stretches, feeling immobile and anxious to travel. I'd say these recent opportunities or co-creations (with my higher self) are totally in sync with my overall purpose. I believe that I came into the world with the design and intention to have a multitude of diverse experiences. They have intensified as I've grown and gained the ability to absorb and integrate them. The knowledge and experience I'm gaining and sharing is helpful to us. Everybody is learning stuff for everybody. Every experience is valid and needed. It's all about Consciousness exploding itself out into infinite directions. We know it all, we feel it all, we ARE it all, even if our particular identities have no cognition of it. My current Earthly reality is like this: I don't have any large financial responsibilities. I don't own a home or have kids or people to take care of. I also don't carry a 9 to 5. I've only taken the worldly vows that suit me. I am interested in nomadic time and nomadic space. I use my skills as a filmmaker and Internet artist to stimulate income. I have a mobile editing studio so I can really work from anywhere. Having a house and kids and jobs does not prevent one from traveling. Many people do it. The choices I made have to do with my own stuff. I am programmed to explore and expand. I like this particular program. Therefore, I'm allowing it to unfold. I think it's important to ask your Self for a deeper understanding and knowing of the plan you made for yourself (as Consciousness) before you came into the World of Form. You wanted to come, obviously. You're here. What exactly is your project? Find out. Some people get answers very quickly. My answers come slowly and from divergent sources. I listen to the clues. When something feels right, I follow that instinct. If I'm unsure about something, it could be that a seed is being planted that will mature later or I need to meditate a bit more on it. It's different for everybody. As far as manifesting the resources, try playing this game: Start out with thinking and envisioning exactly what you want to do and where you want to go. Start talking out loud about it to other people; try to put different scenarios in your mind daily and during your dreamtime. Write and think about your dreams as if they are already happening. You could try a script something like this: I am in Peru. I am walking on a dirt road, looking at the mountains and marveling over the beauty that surrounds me. I am so happy right now. I am with a group of amazing people. I have a crush on (make up something) and I am so thrilled when this person (make up something else). You get the picture. The emotions you add to your script are important. Feeling good, feeling love, feeling sensations. Important! I added the crush part because I love the feeling of having a crush. It tickles me. People use all kinds of techniques to shape reality. I add sound work and hooping to my magic making. Those two things together really stir the pot for me. I'll talk more about combined sound and hoop work in Peru. I'm hoping that along with what I share, the group can come up with other methods that can be put into a format that we can share with folks who weren't there. I've found that patience and gratitude are super, super key. The gap between dreaming and experiencing is getting smaller but there is still a "waiting" period before the whole thing comes to fruition. If you pay close attention though, you will quickly notice subtle movements in your reality that are like clues. They feel like clear guidance towards shaping the particular instance of form you are trying to create. Sometimes the clues lead you to a totally different place so that something even more amazing can happen. That's my situation most of the time. My dream completely evolves. Best-case scenario is to avoid getting super attached to an idea. It's all about Flow. I experience the biggest gaps between dream and experience when I have some fear built into what I'm trying to do. The fear usually comes when I have a big project going. I feel like I have to do extra stuff to break through the fear. I have to cleanse myself of fearful scripts regularly. The way I do that is by amping up the practices that I use to keep me grounded and grateful. I also like to connect with my heart, the beauty of my being. I connect with my heart and I remember who I Am and it's all okay. Sometimes there is no gap. That's when you're facing north. You have a thought, you immediately turn south and the thing appears. You think, "Wow, it would be nice to have a delicious hot drink right now". Then somebody hands you a freshly made hot chocolate. I didn't start this return email with the intention of writing so much but you inspired a flow in me. Thanks, M. Have a beautiful day! Much love, Jaguar Mary
